Hamden Daily News Spotlight, February 15, 2007 East Zone Junior Championships February 9-11, 2007 Albany, NY The Hamden Heronettes Synchronized Swim Team competed in the Junior Association meet on Jan. 28 in New Canaan. The girls finished first in the team event with Melanie Amodio, Stacey Amodio, Alyssa Biller, Kristeena Griggs, Samantha Griggs, Melissa Peterson, Brittany Pollio and Kasey Wood. In the trio event, Stacey Amodio, Kristeena Griggs and Brittany Pollio were awarded the gold medal. And Biller, Samantha Griggs and Peterson came home with a silver medal. Sisters Kristeena and Samantha Griggs finished second in the duet event, and sisters Melanie and Stacey Amodio finished third. Pollio and Wood had a fifth-place finish and Biller and Peterson placed sixth overall. The Heronettes will present their annual water show in the Hamden High School pool on March 30 at 7 p.m. and March 31 at 2:30 p.m. and 7 p.m. close |
